Vehicle crash starts 2-alarm blaze at Oakland gas station

A vehicle crash by a suspected DUI driver ignited a two-alarm blaze at a gas station in East Oakland Thursday morning that triggered an evacuation for nearly two dozen area residents, according to a fire dispatcher. At about 2:20 a.m., emergency medical crews and firefighters responded to a vehicle crash at a 76 gas station located at the intersection of 98th and Edes avenues, a fire dispatcher said.
