Police are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire that broke out in a South Florida apartment building and has forced residents out of their homes. The condo association president talked about the incident Thursday morning, hours after being forced out of the Mantell Plaza due to a suspicious fire allegedly started by a tenant. "All I can say is that it was the tenant’s last day in the building and who knows what goes through people’s heads," said Ray Breslin. Miami Beach Fire Rescue responded to the blaze in the area of 255 West 24th Street in Miami Beach. The fire forced about 55 residents of the Mantell Plaza out of their apartments Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. "There was smoke and other water damage on all the floors, so for safety purposes the building has been evacuated and will be abandoned for the evening," said Miami Beach Fire Rescue Capt. Adonis Garcia.
