Colorado State hurricane forecast team increases forecast slightly, continues to predict very active season

The Colorado State University hurricane team Aug. 5 increased the number of storms expected to form in the Atlantic Ocean this season, based on warm sea surface temperatures and low sea level pressures observed over the tropical Atlantic in June and July, combined with an active early season in the deep tropics.
