$22M in storm claims sum passes estimate in disaster-status plea

Damage from the June 5 tornado that blew through Wood, Ottawa, Fulton, and Lucas counties ran up at least $22.1 million in paid insurance claims, and that doesn't include the estimated $19.1 million cost of the destroyed Lake High School. The new $22.1 million estimate of damage to personal and business property and autos was released Wednesday by the Ohio Insurance Institute.
